A Different Way
O come let us adore the child that is born
To turn the whole world upside down
Come, let the first be last. Let the day come fast
When we give away our crowns
We have traveled far, and we've worked so hard
For a peace we haven't found
So let the child lead. Let us love in deed
As we lay our treasure down
For our good intentions have been perverted
By the Herods of our day
We've so long despaired, and we've never dared
To go home a different way
And as the children die, we just close our eyes
And we pray for peace on earth
But we can't bring ourselves to be the sacrifice
That would let the last be first
The way is hard. The night is dark
But we follow light to you
For you guide our hearts as you guide the stars
And you make everything new
Though we don't know how, we would follow now
Be born in us today
Turn our swords to plows. Send us from your house
To go home a different way
Though we don't know how, we would follow now
Be born in us today
Turn our swords to plows. Send us from your house
To go home a different way
